Since our inception in 1993 by outdoor gear designer and company founder Dennis Brune, ALPS has become one of the innovation leaders. Founder Brune enjoyed a successful career beginning in 1979 with the technical mountaineering manufacturer Kelty, where he moved from product development to sales and marketing, and then to management.

Brune had a vision of an outdoor company that would deliver high-quality performance gear priced within a comfortable reach for the everyday outdoorsman and woman. This vision has been realized in the unique two-in-one design of our product, the Lumbar Pack, which expands into a day pack.

The Lumbar Pack offers several features that enhance its versatility and user-friendliness. The shoulder harness can be adjusted in size or completely removed from the pack, allowing for a customized fit. The padded waist belt includes two easy-access pockets, keeping your gear close at hand. Additionally, the pack is compatible with the Accessory Binocular Pocket and Accessory Call Pockets (sold separately), further expanding its functionality.
